A Guide to Asakusa, Tokio

Sensoji temple in Asakusa is the oldest temple in Tokio. The street leading to the temple is full of souvenir shops.
Omikuji fortune telling at Sensoji temple. Bad fortune will be tied onto this rack and burned ritually by the priests. It's a buddhist practice that many people participate in.
1972 Jazz was banned in Japan and it was forbidden to listen to it. It was brought to Japan by the Americans in the early 20th centuries.
Traditional food in Japan always consists of a miso soup, a side dish rice and a main course. 

This is a tempura restaurant called which plays jazz music and fuses japanese traditional food with american vibes. Tempura is fried vegetables/fish covered in a crispy batter.

Take the Ginza line (orange) to Asakusa Station from Kyobashi (26 min) and walk to the temple.
